When Olga Biekietov fled the the war-stricken Ukraine and brought her son Bohdan and daughter Sofia to the United States last September for the opportunity to pursue their dreams (Bohdan is a very talented basketball player and Sofia has a passion for the arts), the Montgomery community welcomed them with open arms. The outpouring of support to help them acclimate to work, the schools and extra-curricular programs was incredible. At the same time, the Biekietov’s quickly embraced the community, bringing a warmth and perspective that have positively impacted many. They are a kind and beautiful family that have come to love the town they live in, but continue to face challenges. Father/husband Dmitriy has limited work due to his commitment to national service in Ukraine.
